Help, from the first tap.

Installing, checking it's genuine, writing down your words, receiving on the right network, and getting back in on a new phone. Plain answers, step by step.

Check it's the genuine TELRPC.

Every copy of TELRPC is sealed with our signing certificate. A copy with any other seal is not ours, whatever it is called. Check before you install, and again on the phone.

Signing certificate, SHA-256 (the app shows it in Settings → Verify this build)

SHA-256 of telrpc-wallet.apk, version 0.9.39 (check on your computer before copying)

Since 0.9.29 the app is signed with TELRPC's own certificate, in the name of Minutes Network FZ-LLC. Phones with an older copy moved to it in place, wallets kept, because our previous key signed the move. Verify this build shows both under Technical details.

The download, and the commands to check it

Check it with your phone

Open TELRPC, go to Settings → Verify this build and tap Scan the authenticity code. Point the phone at this code.

A copy signed by TELRPC shows Genuine. Signed by TELRPC. The code holds our signing certificate, the file fingerprint and version 0.9.39, and the app compares them with itself. Nothing is downloaded, and the phone stays offline. An older or newer version still shows Genuine; only a different signature means the copy is not ours.

Have 0.9.28 or older?

Those copies were signed with our previous key and only know that one, so scan this code instead. It shows Genuine on a copy signed by TELRPC. Then update from the wallet page.

New phone? Forgot your PIN?

Your twelve words are the wallet. With them, everything comes back on any phone, in a few minutes.

Restore on a new phone

  1. Install TELRPC on the new phone, carried in by cable and checked. Install by brand
  2. Open it and tap I already have a wallet. Type your twelve (or 24) words in order, from your card. This is the one place they are ever typed: the app, offline.
  3. Set a PIN, then read your balance: tap Balance on Home, then Read by call (1 credit, 10 cents), or scan a code from telrpc.com/balance for free.

Using a hidden wallet? The words alone open your main wallet. After restoring, open Settings → Hidden wallet, tap Open hidden wallet and enter its passphrase.

Forgot your PIN

A wrong PIN never wipes anything, so take your time. If it's truly gone, your recovery words reset it, right in the app:

  1. Have your word card in front of you.
  2. On the lock screen, after a wrong PIN, tap Forgot your PIN? Reset it with your recovery words, then Enter my recovery words.
  3. Type your words. If they match the wallet on this phone, nothing is erased: your accounts, names and history stay as they are, and you choose a new PIN.

Words for a different wallet? TELRPC warns you first. Only if you press and hold Hold to remove and restore does it remove the wallet now on the phone and restore the one your words belong to; Keep the wallet on this phone leaves everything untouched. After a reset, turn fingerprint or face unlock back on in Settings if you use it.

Nothing moves. Your funds are on the networks, at your addresses, and your prepaid credit is held against those same addresses. The same words make the same addresses on the new phone, so your balance and your credit are simply there.

Which network did the sender use?

The same coin can travel on several networks. A payment only shows up on the network it was sent on, so it helps to agree on both: the coin, and the network.

USDC on BaseLands on Base. Shows under Base.
USDC on EthereumLands on Ethereum. Shows under Ethereum.
BaseEthereumOptimismPolygonBNB ChainSame address on each of these networks, different balances.

Why it matters

USDC on Base and USDC on Ethereum are the same dollar token on two separate networks, with separate balances and separate fees. On these networks your TELRPC address is the same string, so a sender can pay on either without noticing. Check the network on Receive and choose the one the sender used to see the payment.

How to ask the sender

Before they pay, say both. If they already have, ask which network; their wallet or exchange shows it in the payment details, as Network or Chain.

Please send USDC on Base to this address. Which network will you send it on?

Sent on the wrong network?

Often it can be recovered. On these networks your address is the same, so the payment usually sits at your address on the other network, and the same words open it there: choose that network in TELRPC, or in any wallet that supports it. Moving it on needs a little of that network's coin for the fee.

It is never guaranteed. A network with a different address format, or a payment sent to an exchange's deposit address on a network that exchange does not support, may need the exchange's help, or may not be recoverable.

Credit, sync and sending.

The three things every first send touches.

Credit

Each broadcast uses 1 credit, 10 cents of prepaid credit, and so does every other call request: a sync, a balance read, a swap price check, a swap, a token approval or a contract read by call, charged only when it succeeds. It is never a percentage of the payment. Every fee is shown on the review before you swap. Top up by card or crypto before your first send, or pay from the wallet itself with Top up by call.

Check it for free: in the app, open Settings → Broadcast credit and tap Check my credit (free call); the line reads it back to you. Or enter your address on telrpc.com/topup and tap Check my credit.

Sync before a send

A sync gives the phone a network's current state, such as the next transaction number and the fee, so a send is signed with real values. Ethereum-style networks need one before the first send, and again if a send fails for that reason. Bitcoin and similar coins read fresh state inside each send.

Free: scan the code at telrpc.com/sync. By call: when a send needs one, TELRPC asks inside Send; tap Sync by call (10 cents), 1 credit. The free code and the other ways are under Other ways, and Settings → Advanced → Sync a network by hand syncs any network yourself.

Sending

Tap Send, choose the asset and the payee, enter the amount and tap Review. Check every line, then hold Hold to place call. Stay on the call; a USDC transfer takes about 95 seconds, then the line calls back and the screen confirms it.

No result heard? It may still have gone through. Read your balance first, so nothing is sent twice. A redial carries the same signed payment, so it can only ever land once.

Hardware wallets.

Plug in a Ledger, Trezor or BitBox02 Multi with a USB-C cable, or show a Keystone, Passport or Jade to the camera. It signs, the phone sends by call, and your keys stay on the device. Your hardware wallet stays offline too. TELRPC never needs it connected to the internet. How it works, step by step.

Is Ledger supported?

Yes. The Ledger Nano S Plus, Nano X, Stax and Flex are supported over a USB-C cable, from version 0.9.17 of the TELRPC Wallet. In the app, tap Add a wallet, then Connect a hardware wallet, and follow the steps on screen.

Is Trezor supported?

Yes. The Trezor Model One, Model T, Safe 3 and Safe 5 are supported over a USB-C cable, from version 0.9.17. The Trezor Safe 7 is not supported. On the Model One, you type your PIN against the shuffled digits on the Trezor's own screen, so the phone never learns it.

Is BitBox02 supported?

Yes, the BitBox02 Multi edition, over a USB-C cable, for Bitcoin, Litecoin and the EVM networks with their ERC-20 tokens. You unlock it with its own password on the device. The Bitcoin-only edition is not supported.

Which QR wallets work?

The Keystone 3 Pro, the Foundation Passport and the Blockstream Jade, from version 0.9.17. They need only the phone's camera, with nothing to plug in: the device shows its accounts as a QR code, and each send passes between the two screens as codes. Passport and Jade are for Bitcoin.

Jade works as a Temporary Signer: each time you turn it on, choose Temporary Signer and scan your SeedQR on the Jade itself. It stays offline, and your words never reach the phone.

Which models and coins?

Ledger Nano S Plus, Nano X, Stax and Flex, Trezor Safe 3, Safe 5 and Model T, and Keystone 3 Pro: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, the EVM networks, XRP, Solana, Tron and Cardano. On a Ledger, Solana needs no blind signing. On a Keystone, Solana uses the first Solana account only.

Trezor Model One: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin and the EVM networks. BitBox02 Multi: Bitcoin, Litecoin, the EVM networks and ERC-20 tokens. Foundation Passport and Blockstream Jade: Bitcoin.

Stellar and Tezos, from version 0.9.21: Ledger for both; Trezor Safe 3, Safe 5 and Model T for Stellar and for Tezos transfers from an account that has already sent once; Trezor Model One for Stellar.

Bitcoin Cash, from version 0.9.24: Ledger, with its Bitcoin Cash app, and every supported Trezor. It needs each coin's previous transaction, exactly as Bitcoin does.

Cosmos, TON, NEAR, Nano and Midnight are not on hardware wallets; keep those in a TELRPC words wallet. See the table

How do I send Bitcoin, Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash from a hardware wallet?

For Bitcoin and Litecoin on a hardware wallet (and Bitcoin Cash, from version 0.9.24), sync by call, from version 0.9.18, or sync from telrpc.com/sync with the hardware-wallet option ticked. The device checks each coin against the transaction that created it, and both kinds of sync include them. Change from the wallet's own earlier send needs no new sync. If a sync is missing them, the app stops before the device is asked, and nothing is charged.

Can I use Bluetooth?

No. TELRPC connects to a hardware wallet over a USB-C cable or by QR with the camera, and the app has no Bluetooth at all. A cable cannot be reached from across the room: the only way in is the plug in your hand. A Ledger Nano X, Stax or Flex works over the same USB-C cable.

Do my keys leave the device?

No. The private keys stay on your hardware wallet. The phone keeps only the public addresses, so it can show your balance and receive. Every send is approved on the device's own screen, the device signs it, and the phone carries the signed payment by call. The TELRPC app never touches the internet either.

Do I still pay 10 cents per send?

Yes, the same as any other wallet: 1 credit, 10 cents of prepaid credit per broadcast, and per sync or balance read by call. Top up by card or crypto. The QR sync and the balance page on this site stay free.

What if my device isn't listed?

Keep using it as you do today. Any device that hands over a signed transaction by QR can still send it through the TELRPC Wallet as a call. And tell us which device you have, so we know which to add next.

Do I need it connected all the time?

No. Your PIN opens the hardware wallet in the app while the device is unplugged or switched off, and Balance, Receive, Activity and sync by call all work. Connect or scan it only to add an address or to approve a send.

Ledger, Trezor, BitBox, Keystone, Foundation Passport and Blockstream Jade are trademarks of their respective owners. TELRPC is independent, and not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

Questions.

Which network did the sender use?

Ask them; their wallet or exchange shows it in the payment details, as Network or Chain. USDC on Base and USDC on Ethereum are separate: the payment appears only under the network it was sent on. In TELRPC, open Receive or Home and choose that network.

If it went to the wrong network, it can often be recovered with the same words on that network, because your address is the same across Base, Ethereum and similar networks. It is never guaranteed. More on networks

Android says it can't install unknown apps. Is something wrong?

No. Android says this for every app installed from outside the Play Store. Allow the files app for this one install, then switch it off again. The exact taps for your phone

How do I know my copy is genuine?

In Settings → Verify this build, tap Scan the authenticity code and point the phone at the code on this page; it shows Genuine. Signed by TELRPC. Or compare the signing certificate on that screen with the one on this page by eye. They must match exactly. A copy of 0.9.28 or older shows the previous key and has its own code. Check it

Where do I write my recovery words?

On paper, by hand. Print the recovery word card blank and fill it in as the app shows the words. Never type your words into any website, including this one.

I lost my phone. Is my money gone?

No. Your funds are on the networks, not on the phone. Restore your words on a new phone to get them back, and your credit is there too, because it is held against your addresses. Without the words, nobody can restore the wallet, including us. Restore on a new phone

I forgot my PIN.

Your recovery words reset it in the app. After a wrong PIN, tap Forgot your PIN? Reset it with your recovery words on the lock screen and type your words. If they match the wallet on the phone, nothing is erased and you choose a new PIN. If they belong to a different wallet, TELRPC warns you and removes nothing unless you hold to confirm. Nothing on the networks changes either way. Step by step

My top-up is done. Is my credit ready?

Yes: once the top-up page shows Done, your next call works. To hear it for yourself, use Check my credit (free call) in Settings → Broadcast credit. It's free.

Are any broadcasts free?

No. Every broadcast, and every sync, balance read, swap price check, swap, token approval or contract read by call, uses 1 credit, 10 cents of prepaid credit. Free: the QR sync, the balance page on this site, and asking the line how much credit you have.

I locked the phone in the middle of a send.

The send waits for you, even if the phone restarts. Unlock TELRPC and it opens the send where it was. If it needs another call, Call again carries the same signed payment, so it can only ever land once.

It says "That didn't get through. Nothing was charged."

The line got the call but could not read the request clearly. That can happen on long international routes, even with full signal. Nothing was taken from your credit. Tap Try again, or scan the free code from telrpc.com/sync or telrpc.com/balance.

The call-backs never arrive. How else can I sync?

Some carriers hold back the call-backs TELRPC listens for. Your money is safe: nothing changes without them. Use another way to sync instead:

On a US phone number, call-backs are not available yet, so start with the free code from a computer. From version 0.9.37 a US phone starts with the code by itself. Calls into TELRPC from a US number work as normal, so sends still go by call.

  • Scan a code from a computer (free). Open telrpc.com/sync on any computer, enter your address and scan the code it shows with TELRPC. It works for syncs on every network.
  • Call and listen (10 cents). Hear the numbers on the call, then type them in.
  • Sync by hand. On Ethereum and its networks, type in the numbers from a block explorer or anywhere you trust.

From version 0.9.36, after two call-backs that never arrive, TELRPC offers the free code by itself. To always start with the code, turn on Settings → Calls → Prefer codes from a computer. Sends still go by call.

Please also tap Report it (free call). It sends us a short summary of what the phone saw, so we can fix the route. It never uses credit and is never placed by itself.

Why does TELRPC ask to be my phone app?

From version 0.9.39, TELRPC can be the phone's default phone app. It is optional. If you say no, everything works as before.

As the phone app, TELRPC keys each request itself, at a steady, measured pace, the moment the call connects, instead of leaving the phone's own dialer to pause and key it. While a wallet call is in progress, the grid's call-backs are taken quietly, so a call-back can never interrupt a send. Your ordinary calls keep working on TELRPC's simple call screen, and emergency calls are never held back.

It adds no permission. The app holds the same four, and no internet permission, so nothing about your calls can leave the phone. It suits a phone kept for the wallet alone, which is the setup we recommend.

To switch back, open Settings → Apps → Default apps → Phone app (on some phones, Choose default apps) and pick your usual phone app. Sends, syncs and balance reads carry on as before.

I have no credit. Can I pay from the wallet itself?

Yes, from version 0.9.20. Open Settings → Broadcast credit and tap Top up by call. Get the network details (a free call), then send at least $5 of USDC or ETH on Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum or Optimism, or USDC on Polygon. Leave a little ETH for the network fee. The credit is added once the network confirms the payment, and that call uses 10 cents of it.

My send has had no result for a while.

Read your balance first: it may already have gone through. For a coin send on Ethereum or another EVM network, open it in Activity. After a few minutes with no result, Advanced offers Speed up or Cancel this send, 10 cents each. Only one of the original and its replacement can ever go through.

The exchange asks for an XRP destination tag.

Enter it where Send asks for it, or scan the exchange's code and TELRPC fills it in. Without the tag the exchange may not credit your payment. Your own address and tag are on Receive.

How do I know a new version is out?

From 0.9.20, Settings → Advanced → Refresh numbers also brings word of a new version. Settings then shows it at the top, with a code to scan for telrpc.com/wallet. Check the SHA-256 there, then install it over the app; your wallet stays on the phone.

Do XRP and Tron sends get a confirmation?

Yes, from version 0.9.17. After the call, the line calls back to confirm an XRP or Tron send, as it does for every other chain. No confirmation? Read your balance before sending again.

Which phones work?

Any Android phone with Android 10 or later and a SIM that makes calls. No data plan needed. iOS coming soon.

Still stuck? Write to us.

A real person replies, usually within one business day. Tell us your phone's make and model and what you see on the screen. Never send your recovery words: we will never ask for them.
